Dr Robert Cowley and Dr Jon Phillips, partners on the Smart-Eco project, have produced a report entitled ‘What can urban sustainability experiments do?’, summarising an audience discussion at the World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur.
The report synthesizes the viewpoints of approximately 50 audience participants, gathered through discussion and feedback forms. The contributions have been collated under three topic headings:
- Benefits of urban experimentation
- Building local cultures of experimental innovation and
- Governance and regulation.
The World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is UN Habitat’s conference on urban issues. This year it was attended by approximately 22,000 participants.
