Simon Joss will be a keynote speaker at the forthcoming conference ‘Smart city-regional governance for sustainability – experimental smartness’, with other network partners in the SMART-ECO project also closely involved.
The event will take place in Dresden between 6-7 October 2016. The registration deadline is 21 September (the submission deadline has passed).
The conference is the first in its series, and is being organised by the Regional Studies Association (RSA) ‘research network on smart city-regional governance for sustainability’. Smart city policy is a relatively recent trend which often focuses on areas such as ICT, urban infrastructure and governance. The conference aims to investigate how such ‘experimental smartness’ relates to, and can help support and reconcile, the ongoing economic, social and environmental goals of sustainability.
The conference will be hosted by the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development, Dresden (Germany). There is no registration fee, thanks to the support of the RSA and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
