Smart cities debate: short-term gain or long-term planning?

Debate – Smart Cities: Short-Term Gain or Long-Term Planning?

Hospital Club (24 Endell Street, London WC2H 9HQ)
Tuesday 17 November 2015
6:45pm onwards

This debate will approach the question of how cities can best adapt to new challenges from a variety of perspectives. It will question whether the ‘smart city’ might be a way of achieving short-term gains rather than addressing long-term challenges such as energy provision, social progress and climate resilience.

The panellists will be Simon Joss (International Eco-Cities Initiative), Julie Hirigoyen (Chief Executive of The UK Green Building Council), Ivan Bruce (Urban Sustainability Consultant for Connect4Climate), and Rebecca Pearce (CBRE).

The event will take place at the Hospital Club in central London, as part of their Sustainability Week 2015 programme of events. All are welcome to attend.
